Silence is Golden
My journal has been silent for a while had to make a quick trip with my sister to Florence. God...I love that city. Below are a few pictures of the 245 I took. Don'[t want to bore you. If it weren't for the gypsies the city would be perfect.
NEPTUNE'S PLAZA
THE FOUNTAIN

TO THE LEFT

STILL IN THE PLAZA--DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM NEPTUNE IS THE CHURCH MICHELANGELO AND DA VINCI ARE ENTOMBED.

AND IN THE OUTER COURTYARD--I FOUND FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE'S TOMB.

ALSO TO THE LEFT OF THE FOUNTAIN A MUSEUM AND THE CORRIDOR THAT LEADS TO THE RIVER.

WITH ITS FAMOUS BRIDGE WITH SHOPS SELLING GOLD & SILVER & JEWELS ON THE BRIDGE ITSELF.
height="400" border='0'/>
THERE IS SO MUCH MORE I'LL PUT IT IN PHOTO BUCKET AND MAKE SOME SLIDES--LATER. AM ANXIOUS TO CATCH UP ON ALL OF YOUR JOURNALS.

FRUSTRATION
So this is Variety's little post about LO:CI.
"Half of "Criminal Intent's" 16-episode season will star Jeff Goldblum, who is being introduced into the series lead role. Incumbent Vincent D'Onofrio will return for the other eight episodes."
Goldblum is introduced as the fricking LEAD ROLE. Vincent is mentioned as an after thought. I'm sorry, but they can take their "Oscar nominated actor and stick him up their USA executives collective asses.
I was Prepared to accept Goldblum as the second detective. But I'm sorry...Vincent & KATE ARE the STARS of LO:CI.
I am enraged. Goldblum has yet to prove himself...Vincent is...IS THE STAR--his episodes made USA Cable DRAMA NUMBERS.
Breath...breath...I just needed to vent.

ARGH.

From the USA Today Newspaper. Please tell me I am reading this that Jeff's eight episodes will air first and it will be NINE WEEKS after APRIL 19 BEFORE WE SEE BOBBY.
"The USA Network announced its summer lineup today, which gets a jump start when it begins on Sunday April 19. The lineup kicks off with the eighth season of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The 16 episode season will star Jeff Goldblum in the lead role for half of the season, and then Vincent D’Onofrio will return for the last half."
PLEASE tell me they mis-worded this. PLEASE. If true and Goldblum screws it up like his last show--would they cancel it before we got to the Bobby episodes? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

OLD FRIENDS

From: THE THURSDAY 100 Group at LiveJournal
TITLE: Old Friends
Character: BOBBY
FLAVOR: CI
RATING K
WORD COUNT: 232
A/N: The following morning post Purgatory at Bobby's Apartment.
The Black glock lay in thirty three pieces on the table. He preferred to use Prolix a proprietary cleaner...spraying down the barrel and through the cylinder chamber to remove the fouling rather than gun oil. After setting for a while he carefully cleaned off all the Prolix then lovingly used the bare brush and attached the patches to the tip on the aluminum rod and slid it down the barrel. Piece by piece he reassemble it and slid in the clip. He did not slide a bullet into the chamber or release the safety.
He checked the barrel with his bore light. He didn't like firing his weapon but if he needed to he wanted it in excellent condition. And he did use it once a week on the firing range...but it had been sitting in Moran's desk drawer for the last six months collecting dust.
Finally he wiped it all down with the silicon cloth removing all the fingerprints from his weapon. He picked up his badge and ran the cloth over it gently into every nook and cranny.
Lay them side by side on the table and smiled.
"Welcome back my old friends, "he whispered. Almost tenderly he slipped his badge into his pocket and holstered the glock, clipping it to his belt where the wear there proved it belonged. Defining who he was Detective First Grade Robert O. Goren, Major Case Squad.
